According to this article, "scene" is the new "emo."
Since teenagers inescapabily associate fashion trends with music, and fashion trends create subcultures, I'm not surprised that a new one is merely called "scene."
What I am amused by is that in every subculture I have ever participated in, the term "scene," when applied to a person, was a perjorative term. It described a person who was latching onto the "scene" without having any knowledge of what it was, merely to exploit social and sexual benefit. In fact, the term "scene whore" is common among every subculture I've been a part of to describe people who are clueless about the subculture they're interacting with, but exploiting it simply to fuck every member of whichever sex they desire that exists within that scene.
Scene whores are to be regarded as disposable.
That is my thought for the day.
